4Tasty salami just not as good as it used to be.Jan 05, 2011
By Justnes "Justnes"
First of all, Otto's service was great. Order processing was quick and shipping was very prompt.
I purchased about 4lbs of this salami from 3 different places in the last 2 months. Every time it tasted slightly different and unfortunately this salami is not as good as it used to be 4-5 yrs ago. The 1st piece I tried had a strange smoky taste. The 2nd and 3rd were under aged. The 800g piece I got from Otto's seems to be the most in line with what I remember. Unfortunately none of them had that overwhelming characteristic flavor. I am afraid Pick lost quality control over this product.
Still a great salami and I will buy again.

4Good SalamiSep 06, 2011

PICK Hungarian Salami is better than my homemade salami.
The Hungarian Sausage Shop (N. Western Ave.) Chicago, is extinct and now I'm having the next best salami; PICK.
I will order again for the coming Christmas Holiday (Holy Day) Table.

Even though some specialty stores carry this not too far from where we live, it's easier to just order it via Amazon. The shipping was quick, and the salami is just as I remember. A little taste of the old country.
